You are HUMILITY.
- Denise Nickel (Read in order – #7)
Remember who we are.
As a human, you think of being humbled by something embarrassing or shameful. We speak of “eating humble pie,” which means to make a mistake and own up to it.
In high school, I ran to catch the bus and slipped on a muddy hillside in full view of my classmates. The humiliation-cringe I am feeling right now is not humility.
Think of the opposite.
Utter HUMILITY recognizes the blessing of living a soul-filled, light-filled life. There is neither pride nor shame.
If every person on the planet has the light of God within them, to whatever degree (and I believe they do), then each light has the potential to burn brighter. Let me shine brighter for you and with you.
There is power in HUMILITY because it is not concerned with comparison. Remember that your body is only the glove, the earth suit. The real power lies in the spirit, the fingers which enliven the glove to move. On a soul and spiritual level, we are all the same.
Do you realize that you want nothing more than to help others? Do you feel compassion and understanding for all your fellow beings?
Bask in HUMILITY. You will jump to the head of the class and will reap what you sow. Goodwill does good.
What brings you HUMILITY? Imagine it now and breathe it in and out. Slow the exhale and make it longer. Paint HUMILITY across your chest in imaginary ink. You are that.
Ever-present HUMILITY is your birthright as a soul. HUMILITY is your home. HUMILITY is your essence.
The ancient and ever-living Scriptures say, "Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven."
