I recently bought a three-tiered shelf for a project I was doing at an office where I volunteer.

The review said it was challenging to put together. I was undaunted.

The package came with every part I needed, including duplicates in case I lost a piece and the Allen wrench, which is key to any assembly. There was more in the box than I needed. The shelf unit fits the office’s needs perfectly.

Consider your soul. The spirit that enlivens you.

Your soul is your true HOME. It is not a far-off place. Your home is centred in your heart.

Following that analogy, the rooms in your home are places of safety when life is tumultuous.

You can go there at any time with intention and with your breath.

Doesn’t that sound delicious – like it is too good to be true?

I am living proof that meditating on these truths is lessening my anxiety and keeping me grounded.

Recently, my psychiatrist of 28 years discharged me from his care. My first thought was, “I’ve graduated!” My next thought was, “I will miss him as a voice of wisdom in my life.”

I process change by taking naps under my weighted blanket, so the next day, I felt waves of fear course through my body as I thought, “What if I go crazy again?”

I sent up a silent prayer for guidance. The answer was immediate, “Everything he has taught you is a part of you. You (your soul) will remember it when you need it.”

This will be a soul knowing that will be delivered to my brain.

Awareness. Breath. Remembering.
